U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The objective is the training of technicians and managers in the interpretation and application of this directive, which translates into the correct delimitation of natural spaces with interest in their physical elements, fauna, flora and vegetation (Natura 2000 Network, Areas of Special Conservation). Providing adequate knowledge of habitat types is one of the objectives of this master. However, such knowledge is complex, and cannot be truly weighted without considering its biotic and abiotic components. It is necessary to analyze both elements, as well as their mutual interactions.
