U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

We design effective independent and collaborative learning activities. Teaching is organized in a hybrid style with Thai and international students studying together. The course offers cross-cultural opportunities to develop adaptability and foreign language skills. Use a variety of teaching styles,e.g. small group discussions, seminars, tutoring, mentoring, hands-on training, role-playing, an internship, to fit with students' learning styles. There are extracurricular activities such as mentoring international students, internships, and children's university to help support learning ability.

The program provide a backbone in all chemistry branches (physical, inorganic, organic, biochemical and analytical chemistry) and a basic in science and chemical engineering along with elective subjects like advanced methods in chemistry, materials, cosmetics and environment. The program give students the opportunity to learn in two majors (chemistry or industrial chemistry) on the 2nd year. Students are provided all core knowledge and laboratory experiences in three years. In the final year, students gain research experience via a project at university or a cooperative learning in industry.

The areas of specialisation involve polymer chemistry, cosmetic science, environmental chemistry, and technology. The relevance of research involves integrated research of the above fields to drive the circular economy and green economy. Examples of research are environmental monitoring, health and ecological risk assessment of emerging pollutants in food production; valorization of agro-industrial waste and biomass to value-added biochemicals and products; development of conductive polymers for drug delivery, etc. Research topics come from the industry and partially support by the industry.

The programme follows OBE practices where student outcomes are identified and suitable teaching and learning approaches are developed. As computer science is a fast-changing field, the programme emphasizes development of students’ life-long learning skills that include experiential learning in the industry and research-styled teaching and learning. Even though team-based teaching and learning is the main theme in the programme, the research-styled approach is well integrated throughout in all study options. The can-do attitude of the growth mindset is also perpetually encouraged.

While students are encouraged, research within the programme at the bachelor degree is still somewhat limited. The primary research theme is in the area of AI, ML, data science and analytics, and cognitive computing which is backed by the school’s Innovative Cognitive Computing (IC2) Research Center. The other active research themes include AI for health and mobile digital health which has been successful with undergraduate students’ involvement, as well as Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) of networks and networked devices such as IoT, wearables, and voice assistants.

In our department, we have adopted the outcome based education (OBE). Teachers are meant to guide and help the students understand the material in any way necessary, study guides, and group work are some of the methods instructors can use to facilitate students learning. The electrical engineering laboratory helps student more understand through their experimentation. The mini project and project study can give the opportunities to student can create the project by their interest with the supporting from teacher.

Most teaching and learning process were mainly lecture-based. The lecturer also implements variety of teaching approach and learning strategy are set up for discuss so that student could actively participate. External speakers with specialized expertise were provide with additional experience of work. Students visit industrial factory to broaden their vision and be familiar with actual practice. For practical subject, lecture on the safety and how the equipment works were given. The hand-on teaching was implemented and let work in group to practice working. Recently, OBE was incorporated.

Our teaching and learning management encourage students to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to be used in real life work. Moreover, lecturers have a wide range of proficiencies in various areas related to materials engineering, therefore, there are diverse elective courses in the various fields of metal and alloys, polymers, ceramics and composite materials and applications. Students must also take subjects in quality control, production planning and industrial plant design, therefore, students are able to work in various manufacturing sectors that requires knowledge these fields.

Physics is a fundamental subject for science and technology students at KMUTT. For all students, fundamental subjects, general physics, are offered in module-based. Online lectures are implemented due to the Covid-19. Students can also study at their own pace and retake the exam to make sure they pass the optimum learning outcome. The blended laboratory will soon be as well available. Elective subjects are also available in the department for the students in the whole university to broaden their science knowledge. The courses cover everything from physics in everyday life to quantum physics.
